Who actually writes the code?
Nino Meier and Leonardo Ciccone, the two founders. There is no agency layer and nothing is subcontracted, so the person answering your question is the person who wrote the file.More about us
What does a project cost?
There is no price list, because the honest answer depends on what you are building. What we can tell you is how we get to a number: we scope the work before we quote it, we tell you what is driving the figure, and if the brief still has an open question in it we say so instead of padding the estimate to cover it.
Can you take over a project somebody else started?
Usually. We want to read the repository and see the hosting before we quote anything, because the state of an inherited codebase is the largest single variable in the price. A quote given without that look is a guess dressed up as a number.
What happens after we launch?
Whatever we agreed before we started, written down rather than assumed. We build for the second year on purpose, which is where most of the cost of a system actually sits. We also run our own product, so we carry the maintenance and the support calls our own architecture decisions produce.
How do you decide what to build something with?
Per project, and we tell you the choice and the reason before the work starts. We are conservative about it on purpose: something we know cold beats something new to us, because that gap does not show up as a delay in year one, it shows up as a bill in year two.
How quickly do you reply to an enquiry?
Within two working days, in German or English, with a real assessment rather than a calendar link. If the project is wrong for us we say so in that reply.
Where are you based, and does that matter?
Hitzkirch in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. It matters for two things. If you are in Europe we are in your working day, so a question asked in the morning is answered that afternoon rather than overnight. And when where the data lives is part of the brief, we can build inside infrastructure you already control rather than defaulting to whatever is convenient.
